ReVive Q & A |
|
Is there a way I can get an idea of what my
floors will look like after the ReVive
process?
Yes. Take a water dampened towel and rub it on your floor in
various areas. Your floors will look fairly similar to dampened areas
while there is still a film of water on the floor (before it dries).
Keep in mind that the ReVive deep cleaning process will remove more ground in dirt than
you can, so your floors may look better
than after the water test.
When should I ReVive
my floors.
For best results it should be done when the finish on your floors starts
to look dull. If you wait until the finish wears through, the floor will
not look as good, and may have to be sanded.
Is ReVive
the same as a "screen & recoat"?
NO. "Screen & recoat" is an outdated process. It
creates lots of dust, and removes much of the existing finish while
leaving too much dirt behind.
Will the ReVive
process remove pet stains, other dark stains or damage?
Probably not. The ReVive
will remove most ground in dirt, and stains that are on the surface of
the floor. Most dark stains have penetrated deeply into the wood. Quite
often these stains are so deep they can't be removed by sanding.
I have some gray areas in high traffic areas of
my house. Will the ReVive process
remove them?
Possibly. Grey areas are usually caused by dirt and
water that has entered the grain of the wood because the finish has worn
off. The ReVive cleaning process will remove the dirt, but these areas
may still be gray, though not as dark as before. Spot repairs
can often make these areas more closely match the
surrounding boards. A perfect match can not be
guaranteed.
If there are many stained boards, or the stains are large, it is often more
cost effective to sand and refinish the floor.
Will the ReVive
process fill-in deep scratches, dents, or chips in my floors?
NO. All floor finishes are made to closely conform to the surface
of the floor, and not fill in low areas. Deep scratches, dents or chips
will be less visible, but not eliminated. ReVive
will protect your floors by sealing these areas to prevent dirt and water from staining the wood
beneath. Occasionally, chips can be repaired.
Will the ReVive
process change the color of my floor?
No & YES The ReVive
polyurethanes will not change the color of your
floors. Although the color of your floors may change somewhat due to the removal
of ground in dirt during the deep
cleaning process. Perform the "water test"
outlined above to get an idea what the color will look like.
Sometimes a small amount of color can be added to the ReVive
finish to help even out the appearance of the floor and restore
its original color. To achieve a significant color
change, it will be necessary to sand the floor to bare wood, and
stain the wood before it is refinished.
How do I care for my floors after the ReVive
process?
Easy! Just dry mop or vacuum to remove dust and grit.
Damp mop occasionally. For an extra thorough cleaning, any quality wood
floor cleaner can be used.
Will it take long to do?
NO In most cases an average living room, and dining room
can be completed in one day. Floors can be walked on with socks,
or slippers in a few hours.
Will there be a lot of dust, or a terrible odor?
NO The ReVive
process is completely dust free. I use only health
conscious, low odor, environmentally friendly materials.

|
| A
word about "Sandless Refinishing". Some companies offer
what they call "Sandless Refinishing". I feel this term is misleading.
Refinishing requires sanding to remove the old finish and
imperfections from the surface of the wood. A floor that has been properly
sanded and refinished, can often look like a newly installed floor.
While Clean & Healthy Revive can greatly improve the appearance of
your floors, no system that doesn't require sanding can remove all
imperfections from a wood floor, or make them look "just like new." |
